Website failover for when your hosting goes down

We keep a working copy of your website on an independent server in Europe or the CIS. If your main hosting stops responding, we move visitors to the pre-built copy within 15 minutes: the site opens and leads arrive in your Telegram. No need to understand servers — one call is enough.

Failover without migration: a mirror of the site with its database at an independent provider in Europe or the CIS, DNS with an API and a short TTL, scheduled sync and a written runbook. We touch the site code only where external dependencies take it down together with the hosting.

Online website check: uptime, HTTPS and failover readiness

Enter an address — in 10 seconds we check the site the way visitors see it: server response code and speed, the HTTPS certificate, Title and Description, DNS and domain email. And show what would stop a quick switch to a copy if the hosting goes down.

What we check

  • Server response code
  • Response speed
  • HTTPS certificate
  • Title and Description
  • DNS record TTL
  • DNS and hosting at one company
  • Email SPF and DMARC

Checked from a server in Russia. We don’t store the address.

What a business loses while the site is down

Downtime is more than “the page won’t load”. While the hosting is down, money leaks in several places at once, and most of the loss shows up only the next day — in the reports.

  • Ads burn money

Clicks in Yandex Direct are paid for, but after the click people see an error page and leave for a competitor.

  • Leads don’t arrive

Forms rely on captcha, maps and address hints. One service hangs — and the “Send” button stops working.

  • Analytics goes blank

The counter didn’t load — there is a hole in the reports: no idea where leads came from or which ads paid off.

  • Domain email may go down too

If email runs on the same infrastructure, site emails are not delivered and clients wait for a reply in vain.

  • Search rankings are at risk

Search engines notice long or repeated downtime and may push the site down in results.

How a standby site works — in plain words

Every lead actor has an understudy: if the actor falls ill, the show goes on. Same with your website: the copy is ready in advance, and a few minutes after a failure the site opens again — from the copy.

  1. 01

    We make a copy

We make a standby copy of your website on another server and deploy it right away: the standby server is run by an independent provider in Europe or the CIS. Your main site works as before.

  2. 02

    We keep it fresh

The copy updates itself every night: new products, prices and texts get there without your involvement.

  3. 03

    We switch on failure

The main hosting stops responding — we move visitors to the copy. Within 15 minutes the site is open again and leads arrive in Telegram.

When the main hosting is back, we switch everything back — leads go to the CRM again. Those received during the outage stay with you in Telegram.

What does downtime cost: calculate in a minute

Enter your numbers and see what every hour of downtime costs. An IT engineer can use this estimate to justify a standby site to management.

An estimate, not a promise. We assume leads and clicks are spread over 12 active hours a day; with standby, downtime is up to 15 minutes.

What we need from you — almost nothing

An executive has no time to deal with hosting and DNS — and shouldn’t have to. We take on everything except one decision: “yes, let’s do it”.

Share access

Send us access to your hosting and domain registrar. Don’t remember where it is? We’ll tell you where to look — it usually takes five minutes.

Introduce your IT person

Give us the contact of your developer or contractor. We’ll agree on the details ourselves and send you a short report without jargon.

  • No downtime during setup
  • One manager to talk to
  • Plain language
  • In the end — a one-page outage plan

How the site switches: automatically or manually

You choose the mode and can change it at any time.

Manual — the button is yours

During an outage you and our engineer on duty get an alert, and a person switches: you, your employee or our engineer — with one button in a Telegram bot. A one-page instruction, staff training and a test switchover are part of the launch.

  • A person decides
  • Button in Telegram
  • Test switchover

Automatic — on monitoring

Monitoring checks the site every minute from several locations, including Russia. If the main hosting fails several checks in a row, the site switches to the copy by itself and you get a message. We switch back after a check, so the site doesn’t flip back and forth.

  • No people involved
  • Checks from Russia
  • Back after a check

We replace services that fail along with the hosting

A site can break even without a hosting failure — because of third-party services on it: maps, captcha, counters, address hints. We find these spots in advance and prepare free replacements. During an outage we turn them on, and once the original service is back, we put it back in place.

  • Yandex MapsOpenStreetMap or an image with a link
  • Captchainvisible spam protection
  • Yandex Metricastays, plus a second independent counter
  • Address hintsa plain input field
  • Fonts and librariesserved from the site itself
  • Domain emailTelegram + backup email sending
  • Online paymentorder with an invoice
  • Yandex ID loginlogin by email or phone

The team: DevOps, developers and a marketer on one project

Website failover sits at the crossroads of servers, code and advertising. That’s why a team works on your project, not a lone admin “on call”.

  • DevOps engineer

Sets up the standby server, DNS, sync and monitoring. Also switches the site during an outage.

  • Backend developer

Handles the CMS and the database — 1C-Bitrix, WordPress, custom systems. Connects the copy’s forms to send to Telegram — leads arrive even when the hosting or the CRM is down.

  • Frontend developer

Removes what slows the site down or breaks it in an outage: external fonts, maps, widgets, captcha. Makes sure the copy looks like the original.

  • Marketer

Makes sure ads don’t burn money and analytics doesn’t lose data: a second counter, goals, tags. During a long outage, advises what to do with campaigns.

  • Project manager

Your single contact: calls, deadlines, reports. Translates tech talk into plain words.

  • Engineer on duty

If we keep watch, receives monitoring alerts and switches the site personally. The duty schedule is fixed in the contract.

How a standby site differs from a backup and a CDN

A backup is an archive you can restore a site from in hours. A CDN speeds up loading and sometimes shows cached pages. A standby site is a working copy on standby hosting that visitors are moved to in minutes. It’s an affordable way to make a website fault-tolerant without migration or an expensive cluster.

Who needs website failover

  • Leads and orders come through the site and ads

Every hour of downtime means clicks you have already paid for.

  • The site depends on Russian infrastructure

Hosting, DNS, email, maps, captcha and analytics — with one or two vendors.

  • An hour of downtime costs more than a month of standby

Check with the calculator above — it usually does.

Sites we cover

  • Ad landing pages
  • Corporate websites
  • Catalogs
  • Booking and appointment sites
  • Online stores — order flow agreed separately

Supported CMS

  • 1C-Bitrix
  • WordPress
  • Tilda

Website failover pricing

One plan: a one-off launch and monthly maintenance. The standby server is registered to you.

Turnkey Dubler

A working copy of your site on an independent server and switchover in 15 minutes

  • Standby server in Europe or the CIS, same stack as production
  • Full copy of the site with the database
  • DNS at a provider with an API, TTL 300 s
  • Replacements for maps, captcha, forms and counters
  • Runbook, switch button, staff training
  • Test switchover

Maintenance

from 9,990 ₽ per month

  • Nightly sync and an autotest of the copy

Discuss the setup

We quote the exact price after a free review: it depends on the CMS, the database size and the number of external services on the site.

Site already down? “Emergency help”

We start working while you’re still on the phone. We pull pages from search engines’ saved copies and the web archive and bring the site up from any usable copy — an archive at a former developer, a repository, an export from 1C or Excel. No copy at all — within a day we launch a temporary version of the site with a lead form. Registrar panel unavailable — we launch the site at a temporary address and move the ads there, and once access is back we merge the addresses with a 301 redirect.

+7 (932) 007-01-69Price depends on the scope Send an urgent request

Need a full migration of the site and database to a server abroad? We discuss it separately: personal data under Russia’s 152-FZ is sorted out before work starts.

Where a standby site won’t help

Better to know the limits before work starts than during an outage.

  • A standby abroad won’t help if access to foreign servers from Russia is restricted. That’s why Dubler is a backup route while the main site stays with a Russian host.
  • Russian payment services may not work on the copy. During an outage, orders are placed without payment and an invoice is issued.
  • Only what exists in at least one copy can be restored: changes after the last sync can’t be recovered.
  • Without access to the registrar panel, the domain can’t be switched. In that case we launch the site at a temporary address.
  • While the copy is live, the 1C exchange is paused: catalog and prices are as of the last update.
  • Any hosting can fail. Our job is to make sure you have a working copy and a clear plan ready for it.

Website failover FAQ

Answers to what owners ask most often. Technical details are in the IT engineer version.

Updated 27 October 2026

My hosting is down and the site won’t open — what do I do?

Call us. First we’ll find out who has a fresh copy of files and the database and whether the domain registrar panel opens. If there’s a copy, we bring the site up from it; if not, within a day we build a temporary version with a working form. What to do yourself in the first minutes — see “Website down: what to do”.

How is this different from the backup my hosting makes?

The hosting backup lives with the same provider: hosting down — backup unavailable too. Even if the copy is intact, deploying it on a new server takes hours. A standby site is already deployed on another server, so switching takes minutes. More in “Backup or standby site”.

How long does setup take and what do you need from me?

1 to 3 business days, and the site keeps working as usual. From you — one call and access to the hosting and the domain registrar. Or just your developer’s contact: we’ll take it from there.

Who switches the site during an outage?

Your choice. Automatically — the site moves to the copy by itself on a monitoring signal and you get a message. Manually — you, your employee or our engineer on duty press a button in Telegram. You can change the mode at any time.

Will clients notice they’re on the copy?

The site looks the same. Some functions are simplified during an outage: for example, online payment becomes “order with an invoice”, and the catalog shows prices as of the last update.

Is a standby site a website mirror?

Essentially yes: a working mirror on another server, but on the same domain. It’s not a “mirror” in Yandex terms — the site gets no second address, so there are no duplicates in search.

Will rankings drop because the server is abroad?

The server’s country doesn’t affect rankings by itself. Downtime does — and that’s what standby reduces.

What happens to ads while the site runs on the copy?

Ads keep pointing to your domain, and the domain serves the copy — clicks aren’t wasted. An independent second counter keeps the statistics even if Yandex Metrica is unavailable.

What if mobile internet is restricted in the region?

Under “whitelist” restrictions only listed sites open, and a copy abroad won’t help those visitors. Dubler protects against hosting, data center and third-party service failures. We’ll honestly tell you what can be done in your case during the review.

Do I need to move away from my current hosting?

No. Your main site stays where it is. Only the place where DNS records are kept changes — records are copied one to one, clients won’t notice.

How much does website failover cost?

Launch — from 119,990 ₽ one-off, maintenance — from 9,990 ₽ a month. The exact price depends on the CMS, the database size and the number of external services; we quote it after a free review. The standby server is registered to you and you pay the provider directly: usually 2,000–5,000 ₽ a month.
